Jason Cubit has been the CEO of Horizon Housing Company for over 6 years and during his time he has driven significant growth expanding the not-for-profit charities operations, implementing a development arm to the business and driving growth in portfolio numbers. Horizon is now Queensland’s largest community housing provider with a portfolio of nearly 2000 properties stretching from Townsville to Murwillumbah and Cleveland and Roma.
Prior to his time with Horizon Jason’s work career has included senior roles in government, national facilities management operations and the engineering sector.

Steve Bevington has been involved in the development and management of affordable and community housing for over 30 years including development of cooperative housing in London, chairmanship of London Borough of Camden Council Housing Authority, Housing Cooperative Programs- Victorian Ministry of Housing & Construction in the 1980s, Managing Director of Community Housing Ltd Group of Companies (CHL) since 1994 to the present day which develops, designs, constructs and manages community housing.
Steve Bevington is one of Australia’s leading experts on housing affordability. He is a registered builder and holds a Diploma of Senior Management from Melbourne Business School. He is on the board of Community Housing Federation of Australia, Australia’s peak body for community housing and is a key contributor to policy advocacy influencing government housing policies and initiatives.
Steve Bevington has lead CHL from a one worker organisation in one State in Australia to business operations into three of the four regions of the world which harbour extreme poverty including establishing a presence in Timor Leste, Chile and India. In Australia the property portfolio of the company has been increasing significantly each year and it currently manages more than 4300 properties in Australia across all six Australian States.
From an initial grant of $63,000 in 1993 the company has reached new heights with over 250 national and international staff on its payroll, annual operating revenue of $51 million, assets of $484 million and equity of $304 million in 2013.
CHL has a particularly strong commitment to housing people with high and complex needs whilst developing ancillary programs for people who have been disadvantaged in the market place. Alongside this CHL has a strong commitment to housing, employment creation and training in construction in aboriginal communities in Australia and for its overseas activities.
Internationally CHL’s operations are continuing to grow through a continuous program of housing advocacy, development and project management of affordable housing programs whilst training and employing significant numbers of local people in the regions where it has operations.

Charles brings over 25 years of senior leadership across a broad range of industries and countries. As the Chief Financial Officer at Mission Australia Housing, Charles was part of a team that grew the property portfolio to nearly 2,000 homes in three years. Other achievements include the developing proactive corporate partnerships and the building the strong business systems necessary to support an organisation that was growing rapidly. Charles has worked directly with the Registrar, NSW Housing, to establish the compliance framework for community housing provider registration. Charles has a NZ Bachelor of Commerce and a MBA from Warwick University

As Eden’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Jan oversees Property Management, Resident Services, Accounting and Finance, Asset Management, Human Resources and Office Administration.
Jan came to Eden from Southern California, where she was President of WNC Management, Inc. in Irvine. She also served as Vice President/Director of Property Management at the Design Center Housing Services, Inc. in Los Angeles(now known as Abode Communities, Inc), and as Director at the John Stewart Company.
She has brought more than twenty years of experience in Real Estate, Property Management, Human Services and Social Work to Eden Housing. Jan was President of AHMA-NCNH, an instructor in Advanced Property Management and holds several property management certifications.
